blissfield & a giveaway win

Last Friday Eric and I drove to Blissfield because he knows how much I love antique/junque/thrift shops and Blissfield has some good ones.

I did find a number of vintage cabinet cards for my Flickr collection and a few odds and ends.

But the real highlight was before we got to the antique mall. On our way we stopped at a farmhouse that said "BIG SALE". Because I love big sales.

Well, it wasn't all that big, but it was big enough. Scored a few finds. Not interesting enough to blog about, but fun enough for me.

However.

The lady there had just adopted ONE DOZEN kittens from a farm. As soon as they all weigh enough, she is having them spayed and neutered. Pretty cool.

She had a few of them sitting in baskets when we first walked into her barn.





Oh did they squeeze at my heart. I'm SOOOO glad that they weren't up for adoption/being given away because I would've immediately stuffed as many as I could've gotten comfortably in my purse. {It was a big purse, no worries.} And as I have two cats, two dogs and allergies I don't have any business whatsoever stuffing kittens into my purse.

Below is a side entrance to the farmhouse this lady owned. She was gracious enough to let me photograph it. I would've loved to get more photos of her property because it was shabby-enchanting, but I didn't want her to think I was weird.



Recently my name was drawn to win this one-of-a-kind work of art by Benedetta. It's a little handpainted, handmade pillow in the primitive style. I love it. Thank you Benedetta!
